Review and approve the School LAND Trust minutes from the prior meeting

  • Michelle Palileo motioned to accept the minutes and Katie Bennion 2nd the motion
 

Overview the implementation of the School LAND Trust Plan

  • Trust LAND money overview was shared and discussed
 

Overview the implementation of the Teacher and Student Success Plan (TSSA)

  • TSSA money overview was shared and discussed
  • Our Chromebook lease is coming up and next year it will increase a small amount
  • The district helps to pay our lease for Chromebooks
 

Digital Citizenship Presentation

Alan Rees presented on digital citizenship

  • Filters for students, staff, and admin
  • Management of electronic devices
  • We are in compliance with CIPA
  • Monitoring with Bark
  • Common Sense Media was explained and how to keep kids safe - lessons through Nearpod
  • Blocksi monitoring for teachers during school/class time (available soon: pending training)
  • Parent Resources:
    • The Art of Screen Time by Anya Kamentz
    • Digital for Good: Raising Kids to Thrive in an Online World by Richard Culatta
    • Interland (Be Internet Awesome): online game platform
    • NetSafe Utah: online resources for parents and how to help their child with online education
 

Positive Behavior Plan Discussion

Jacci Strain presented on our positive behavior plan

  • Eagle tickets and store for positive behavior
  • Mental Health Specialist
  • Lessons for every grade provided by the counselor
  • R&R recess to help students regroup
  • Small groups for counseling
  • A grant from the state & how the funding is used
    • Zen den
    • Eagle store
    • Spots
  • Tools to help teachers with behaviors
    • Calm boxes

*There was a discussion about aides and how they are utilized in the classrooms. We have 1 student success aide. All aides were trained at the beginning of the year in behavior management.*

 

Gather input for School Safety/Digital Citizenship Plan(s).  

  • Jahnin Harper presented on the safety drills our students have participated in.  She shared the requirements and expectations involved in conducting our drills
    • Hold- doors are closed and locked but inside school runs as usual.
    • Secure- get inside. Lock outside doors.
    • Lockdown: students in the classroom with doors locked and out of sight.  

  • After every drill, Jahnin, our safety facilitator, reports back to the district.
 

Review Acadience Math Data 

  • Jahnin reviewed Acadience math data. She reviewed the increase and the decrease of the data from 2020-2021 and the data from 2021-2022.

  • This year Jahnin Harper will be working with teachers to help students build up their skills based on what the data is showing.

  • It was requested by a member to compare Municipal data with district scores.  The information will be included on the January agenda and meeting. It was also requested to show the comparison of our school with the state as well.
