Review and approve the minutes from prior meeting

  • Sally Golding motioned to accept Jan. minutes and Katy Bennion seconded it.

Overview the implementation of the School LAND Trust Plan

  • Reading and Math Interventions have continued to be implemented for 30 minutes, four days a week.
    • Jahnin reviewed and explained Acadience Reading & Math data

Overview the implementation of the Teacher and Student Success Plan (TSSA)

Review Final Report.

  • We reported the same data we had talked about in our January meeting.  
    • 50% of our kindergarten through 4th grade students obtained typical, above typical, or well above typical growth in reading
    • 62% of our 2nd through 6th grade students obtained typical, above typical, or well above typical growth in math

Make recommendations to the principal about next year’s Teacher and Student Success Plan (TSSP)

  • It was discussed that the Community Council would prefer to have the Teacher and Student Success Plan absorb the cost of Chromebooks so that the Trustland funds could be focused on providing paraprofessionals for interventions.

Academic data discussion in relation to the current School LAND Trust Plan implementation and identify the academic needs the council will address in the upcoming school year

    • Our reading and math data reflected a need for continued focus in both reading and math.

Discuss needs and goals for next year’s plan.  Begin drafting the 2024-25 draft. 

  • It was discussed that we will put more money towards reading intervention aides and computer, art/music personnel instead of our chromebook lease.  The Community Council felt that the trustland money would be best spent on providing paraprofessional support through small group interventions to improve Municipals reading and math scores.  

  • It was discussed that the Community Council would like to put a strong focus on improving reading outcomes.

Propose a meeting date for March

  • It was proposed that we hold a meeting on March 27th from 2:00-3:00 PM if changes need to be made to our Trustland plan.  This meeting will be canceled if no changes need to be made.
